A troubled young writer Ruth Walker believes she has discovered the holy grail of terror, the knives used by Jack the Ripper to commit his notorious murders. Attending an intensive workshop in a haunted Victorian asylum, run by the mysterious screen-writing guru Richard Wise, she and five colleagues aim to write the ultimate horror film.
But when the knives go missing, Jack the Ripper, who's spirit is trapped inside the asylum walls, comes back to life and the writers must re-discover their own connection to the building and the Ripper if they are to survive.
