Straight out of Compton
From Mark HammettAbout the film:
A short comedy inspired by my teenage years as a rapper living in the Home Counties. Set in 1990, it explores the humour surrounding middle-class, white teenagers who aspire to perform as urban and marginalised. Funded via a Kickstarter campaign and shot during a sub-zero December weekend, this 12 minute film follows Danny, a wannabe rapper/DJ/graffiti writer who decides to enter a rapping competition and attempts to enlist the help of his crew. Featuring music from UK hip-hop legends Blade, Hardnoise and Gunshot among others.
