The UK Global Screen Fund’s International Business Development strand is now open, offering non-repayable grants between £50,000 and £200,000 to support UK companies working in film, TV, animation and interactive narrative games to grow internationally. You can apply under the Film Transformation Track (for film-focused long-term strategies) or the General Track (covering all sectors). Projects must begin in early 2026 and span 3–5 years.

Film Hub North is offering £1000 grants to young filmmakers (aged 16–25) in the North of England to make a micro short film (max 5 minutes). This new fund supports any part of the filmmaking process - from development to post - and you can shoot on any device you have to hand. It’s the ideas and your approach that matter most.
Alongside the grant, awardees will get one-to-one support from Film Hub North’s Talent team, plus the chance to screen their finished film in January 2026 alongside other regional filmmakers. No professional credits or filmmaking experience needed, and applications are especially encouraged from underrepresented voices.

Hosted in association with Bolton Film Festival, the fund offers £10,000 for short film production, mentorship from Oscar®-winning filmmakers, and resources like festival strategy support, legal aid, and post-production services. There’s also a £3,000 fund for first-time filmmakers. Submissions are open globally for live-action short films (max 25 pages). Finalists pitch at Bolton Film Festival, with winners announced during the event.
