Work at Shooting People
Shooting People is looking to appoint a passionate, skilled and motivated individual to play a critical role in shaping the organisation’s future at an exciting time in the film industry. The Executive Director will take a lead role in implementing the strategic objectives of the organisation, driving growth across the company with an innovative approach and high-level business development skills.
Shooting People is an ambitious and innovative organisation at the heart of the independent film industry in the UK. Our purpose is simple: to enable independent film to flourish. We connect filmmakers, actors, writers, producers and crew to share ideas and expertise, and to get their films made and seen.
The Executive Director is a new position that will work closely with the Creative Director, Cath Le Couteur and Chief Technology Officer, Stu Tily to develop key growth objectives. The ideal candidate will thrive in the day to day running of the company and will have experience working at the intersection of arts, business and technology. S/he will value the company’s core membership base and continually improve the services for our community, whilst capitalising on previous experience to actively seek out public sector and corporate partnership opportunities to extend the company’s reach, profile and income. Strong management and communication skills as well as a familiarity with social media and CRM are also essential.
The role is a Part Time position (2.5 - 3 days/week) with two direct reports, as well as responsibility for managing a team of freelancers who regularly assist on specific projects.
Whilst professional experience within the film industry is preferred, we are also keen to consider candidates with broader experience within the Arts or Technology sectors who have a passion for independent film.
If you’re looking for an opportunity to make your mark as a business leader in a purpose-driven, entrepreneurial company with a stellar reputation, this is the job for you.
