INDEX18 year old US budding actor would like to meet others this summer in London

I make documentary films. www.nomadicare.org/project/migration is my latest. In July my-18 year-old grandson will spend a month in London. It is his first trip abroad. If you need a tall blondish long haired actor with an American accent, he is your person. He will be studying sound design for theater for one week and is looking for experiences for the other weeks. He is also a wonderful person (of course, I am not prejudiced) and it is a treat to be around him. Any suggestions? Ideas? Thoughts? He is in the beginning of the planning process.

Hey ya. I am no longer based in London about and 1.5 out of town. But perhaps he can contact the actors centre and see if they do temporary membership - they have lots of classes and short courses. There is also the actors temple if method is his thing. Lots of theatre companies run courses over the year so if there is a company he likes perhaps he can drop them a line to see if they are running courses. Also most theatres do cheap tic for under 25- so he should look to book at The Almeida, Royal Court, the national, lyric Hammersmith, the bush, arcola, the yard, Southwark playhouse. There are so many good theatres amother than the West End and cinema s too. If u let me know what month he is coming if I see anything I can send it over. Some drama schools run summer courses too. But I am. It sure how long they are perhaps he can google some. If you look up conference of drama schools they list all the top acredited drama schools then he can individually look them up. Wish him my best

Hi Sas,
All the main drama schools in London run summer courses, here's a few:
Royal Central School of Speech and Drama summer short courses:
http://www.cssd.ac.uk/summer-short-courses
Guildhall summer school:
http://www.gsmd.ac.uk/acting/programmes/drama_summer_school/
LAMDA short courses:
https://www.lamda.org.uk/drama-school/all-courses/lamda-short-courses
RADA short courses:
https://www.rada.ac.uk/courses
Some of them are a bit pricey, but it's worth it if he wants to get a taste of what drama school would be like.
Of course, I would also recommend he tries to get involved with some SP Members projects whilst he's here! Especially if he needs to get showreel material together. He can take a look at the opportunities on SP over on our production page: https://shootingpeople.org/production/people
We also run free filmmaker networking events that that he could come along to, keep any eye on our event calendar to see when they're coming up: https://shootingpeople.org/events
If he has any questions about SP, tell him to get in touch on: help@shootingpeople.org
