Brave decision for investing in the equipment, it's always something that I've thought about, sometime ago I looked at S16 using an SR3 or
even an Aaton Minima, but never really had to bottle or time to invest. (Not to mention the glassware).
The price of old film gear is incredible these days, it really is a buyers market, as I'm sure you've done your research, at the time I think the moving picture company( processing labs?) were offering 400ft (35mm) supplied digital for £200, does that sound right?
It's a whole discipline that's being forgotten about, are they still using 16mm in film school?

Hi Hunter

Love your showreel. You have a great eye for angles and composition.
Although I'm a screenwriter, I do create storyboards and did direct my own short a couple of years ago. I have several shorts - one of which I think might be right up your street, content, filmotography and style-wise.

Currently, I am working with two film makers on projects - one is shortlisted in the enter the pitch competition, the other wiil be for the British Urban Film Festival.

Hi Hunter,
I am planning to shoot a bit more in the UK with UK crews in the future, something that has been neglected in the past few years due to better funding opportunities in Germany. There are a fews ideas floating around (and scripts, of course). There is one script in particular which would, however, work better being shot in Germany as the central characters are expats.
One would probably save money on certain costs as well, as you do not need extra licenses for shooting outside in the states of Lower Saxony and Bremen. If that is an interesting option as well, flights to Bremen from London are around 50 quid return journey. You can e-mail me at c.wolf@go-cmp.de

How great that you're keeping old technologies alive! I'm guessing if you've come up through the electrical department that you've lit specifically for 35mm on commercials? If not, it'd be good to partner up with an old dog who can pass on some of the subtleties of 35, adviser re choosing film stock, etc.

It's a shame in some ways there's no 35mm end to end workflow any more, but at least you can capture to 35 before moving digital for all the other stages!

Hi Hunter. I'm an Operator and DOP (Member of the ACO - Association of Camera Operators) who grew up with film. All my time as a Focus Puller and Loader was entirely with film. So, if you want ro team up with a long standing member of the camera department who has used the 435 in anger (as it were) let me know. I am experienced with both fluid and Geared heads and have 35mm expperience with Steaducam.

Hi Hunter,
My name is Rafal I work as a focus puller and camera operator and I would love to shoot on 35mm as so far I have only worked on high end digital cameras, 16mm and super 8mm. I have done 16mm/35mm familiarisation course at NFTS last year so I had a good training on Arri 435, Arri LT, Arri SR3 and Panavision 35mm. Saw your showreels and wondered what you thought to helping me with the development of a feature film idea.

The story can be set anywhere. It's a powerful dramatisation about a single parent and her semi-autistic daughter. A chance discovery of an old family treasure changes their lives forever. It's based on two central characters. Most of it is shot in and around their home, car (driving) and a private school. This story could be set anywhere and can be done on a small budget.

I tend to direct and write my stuff and I used to live in Sydney til a few months ago... so I'd like to meet more talented people like yourself.
