As a new member greeted with the sad news of Shooting People being soon to close I thought I should take this last opportunity of introducing myself.

I'm a recently graduated media composer from the Royal College of Music with, previous to that, twenty years experience as a percussionist performing all over the world. It has given me the amazing opportunity of hearing music from across the globe and, like a magpie, I have tried to store away all the shiny things for use later.

I grew up with jazz, trained in classical, danced to electronica and then fell head over heels in love with music from South America and Cuba. I will try to draw on whatever is useful when trying to tell a story. Writing music is an art but also a craft. The skill, and the joy, comes when working with you, the director, the writer, the producer and crafting together what it is you need to bring your story to life.

p.s. To be clear, the dog doesn't actually do any writing but she does make sure I take regular breaks from my desk in order to play ball. Very useful.
