INDEXA different way to do showreels

I hate showreels. I don't really think they do the job they're supposed to so I've been experimenting with a different approach. Instead of a showreel I've made a little film about me and my work. It represents my personality and my style really well. Obviously, this won't be to everyone's taste and will rule me out of some jobs BUT it means the people who do want to work with me really want to get onboard with my specific point of view and aesthetic. I really think it's time to start moving away from the stale old fashioned style of showreel and would love to see other people's examples of how they've done this.

Genuinely enjoyed it. Refreshingly impactful and displays a wonderful playful nature. Certainly sells your skills and talents as a filmmaker. I also noted how many views it had received in 3 days let’s hope those viewers are creative employers. Good luck.

Hey Brett,
I really liked this and enjoyed watching it. It shows your skills as a storyteller better than most showreels I've seen -it's more of an advertisement for you and your work! I wonder if a similar thing could work for actors?

Thanks all! I think a similar approach could work for most creative fields where who you are and what you'll be like to work with holds a similar significance to how skilled you are.

Brett, this is by far the best showreel I've ever seen.
I'm wondering if it is possible to use a similar approach to music and sound design, but I doubt it as I guess what really brings your showreel together is the fact that you are showcasing what a great storyteller you are by employing writing, acting, editing, ...
Just fantastic. Great job!

If I can give a tiny suggestion, pan the music to the center as it's a bit distracting having it come from the left side only.
