Actor with access to taxi needed for short scene in feature film

I am producing and directing a feature film, Waking David, and we have a scene that will be shot on May 27 involving a London taxi. Ideally, I'd like to find an actor who either has a taxi or has access to one and who could therefore bring the taxi to the location (Mile End) and work with us for a couple of hours on the scene. Not many lines, but it's a fairly crucial scene and quite interesting. The is a low budget film but the driver/actor will be paid.

Hi Kevin,

I hope you manage to find someone, but you might find it better all round to rent a vehicle (action car companies will do them - not necessarily legal as cabs because of the strict regs - but then cabs which are legal will tend to be on the road every day anyway), and pick your actor on grounds of looks, age, talent etc. If your only qualification for casting is 'has a taxi', you'll be limiting your options enormously.

You also don't mention if the vehicle will be on or off the public highway, if driving is involved, low loader, what the insurance position is, etc. Might be worth some notes along those lines as well as some casting hints and you might get lucky! But look at renting an action vehicle as a backup plan, I suspect you may need it :)
