Adobe Premiere clip frame number question

9 years, 12 months ago - Alwyne Kennedy

How can I tell what frame number within a clip the timeline playhead is paused at? I don't mean where the playhead is at on the timeline. For instance, say I have a clip that's 1267 frames long, and I've maybe shortened it on the timeline, how can I tell what frame the playhead is paused at? I'm doing something that has loads of speed changes and reversals, you see, and I'm using multiple instances of the same clips, needing them to start at the exact frame where another clip finishes, but finding that matched point in the clip is a pain - if I just knew the frame number it'd be easy...

Cheers, Paddy. You're a star. Wish I'd known that trick two days ago!

I haven't used premiere in a decade, but I'm pretty certain it'll have the time code on the clip and able to match frames etc seeing as it's apparently quite professional now. In fact googling 'match frame premiere' brings up https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/using/playing-assets.html

No worries. It's the kind of advantage you can get from going on a course over being self-taught (and not knowing what to look for!), there will likely be other things that can save you time too, so could be with looking into for the future.
