INDEXAdvice on lighting green screen?
10 years, 8 months ago - Noemi Varga
Hello,
I am shooting a small test with a green screen tomorrow for a future project but have no assistance in the studio. Familiar with the very basics of lighting of such a set up, but not sure which lamps would be the best option out of what my uni's studio has. Would be grateful for any advice!
This is what they have in stock:
1 x two by four tube Kinoflow kit (tungston tubes only)
1 x 4 head Dedo kit
4 x Arri IK
3 x Berkey 1K
4 x Mole 1K
6 x Arri 2K
7 x Berkey 2k
3 x Arri Blondes
3 x Mizars
1 x Mini Iris
6 x Orion cyclights
6 x Arri Soft 2.5K
3 x 1200w Zips
Will be using a Blackmagic camera.
Cheers

I'm not a lighting expert by a long straw, but the aim is to get very flat lighting on the screen to make keying easier, so things like dedos may be the opposite of helpful. Light the screen flat, then turn off those lamps to light the action, then turn them all on and fiddle to reduce the spill problems. Good green screen lighting is a proper skill!
