Has anyone used a property found on AirBnB as a location from a shoot or approached the owners about it? If so, what was their response and the experience like?

I've used it recently and the vast majority were happy to let you use it for filming, most asked for more money though

I have a cottage on AirBnb and have now been approached three times by film makers - It really depends on how many crew you have - We were asked for 16 crew to do a night shoot and I said no as our cottage is not that big but other shoots I have been open to. You just need to let us know what you want and then we can decide if we think its suitable. But shouldn't be a problem!

I've been on several shoots in AirBnB places. One thing that every crew that I work with is always conscientious about is taking care of the place and cleaning up afterward.
That part doesn't change because we're using an AirBnB spot of course; we want to be respectful to people who lend us locations also.
Most of the AirBnB owners have been fine with it, though a few have had bad experiences with film crews and wouldn't let us shoot in their places, which is another good reason to take care of the place... to not ruin it for the next team that wants to use that spot.
