We take a look into the commonly asked question "Am I too old to become an Actor?" and the potential barriers to entry. Is it possible to become a full-time actor? Yes. Is it easy? No, not at all - but if you love the craft, you put the effort in, yes, it's very much achievable.
This can, unfortunately, be a huge barrier of entry, even for a potential actor's in their late twenties. They feel the ship has sailed and that once they've completed training they're in their early 30's and the time has passed. That's not the case at all, once you've read this article I bet you have at least changed your mind a little!
Am I too old to become an actor? The answer is no, you are never too old to act or to even to start your acting career. There are plenty of advantages to starting your acting career later in your life.

A friend of my parents was the late, great Buster Merrifield (grandad from Only fools and horses). They knew him from Amature Dramatics. He was a bank manager. He then retired from the bank and concentrated on being an actor full time. The rest is history.

Buster Merrifield was "Uncle Albert" not "Grandad", that was Lennard Pearce :-) What a legend Buster was though. "During the war..." Fantastic! Lucky you to have known him.
In answer to the OP's topic though, of course we always want older actors for films, and they will always be in shorter supply than younger actors, practically by definition (although perhaps there are more younger roles than older roles available, so it might balance out). I'd say it's probably actually easier to become an actor if you're older. You might have a more stable housing / savings situation too.
