INDEXAny directors interested in helming an episode of a web-series?

Hi everyone,
I am looking to produce a new web-series in 2016. I put together a 6-episode web-series in 2015, and am looking to produce a 10-part series in 2016. The show is a political comedy (UK politics, I'm afraid) and the whole arc is scripted, though there's still plenty of polishing and revisions going on.
I'm looking to speak to some people about the possibility that they would step in and direct an episode (or two) of the upcoming series. I'm looking for people who have an ear for comedy, but I'm not too bothered by what experience they have. Basically, I want to sit down with you and talk about my plans for the show and see if we share roughly the same outlook! (I should add that a reasonable knowledge of UK politics is required to understand the context of the show.)
The show will be produced on a shoestring and we'll have to maximise however much shoot time can be arranged, but I'm hopeful that the end product will be top quality. If you're interested in directing made-for-web content but haven't had the opportunity to bring your own project to that point, then I think this could be a really interesting/informative experience for us all. I am approaching this new web-series with a lot of knowledge that I gained from my previous project, so I definitely recommend getting stuck in to something before you can really expect to produce something brilliant.
Anyhow, if this sounds vaguely interesting to you, please let me know here. I'm happy to consider and chat with anyone – it's still fairly early days and there's a lot we need to bring together behind the scenes, but I'd definitely like to start speaking to (and canvassing feedback from) interested parties.
Cheers,
Nick

Hi Nick,
This sounds really interesting! I'm actually a big fan of political comedies. You can see some of my films at http://www.eyefivefilms.com - although my filmography is more thriller based I'm actually working on a comedy feature. Let me know if you fancy a chat over xmas.
Cheers

Hi Nick,
This sounds like an interesting challenge, and I'd be very happy to meet up to discuss. I am a writer-director and have directed 11 shorts and a feature film. Here are some links, mostly comedy:
The feature film is called 'Kidnap Me and this is the teaser: https://vimeo.com/89859317.
I also directed this promo for the Everyman cancer charity: https://vimeo.com/7377385.
This is a short I wrote: https://vimeo.com/76350637
And one I directed: https://vimeo.com/87662692. Password is 'nigel'.
Good luck with it, either way!

Hi Nick
I'm a director with a background in TV, commercials and online. I've done some short form comedy and have experience of working across a series. It sounds like an interesting project and I'd love to find out more if you're still looking. This is my reel: https://vimeo.com/138104770

Hi Nick,
I'd be interested in directing an episode if you don't mind a slightly surrealist style.

Hi Nick
Very interesting project you have going on and I'd love to find out more.
I'm a short film, and online director, my latest short is a silent comedy in the vein of Harold Lloyd and is doing very well on the festival circuit. I've also directed comedy sketches with comedy duo Haiste and Lawrence as well as writing and workshopping sketches with comedic actors. I've also worked on many comedy shows for Channel 4 and MTV as a 1st AD, so I feel I have a very good understanding of what makes people laugh!
You can find out more about me and view my work at www.paulmurphydirector.com. Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
All the best and happy Christmas if I don't hear back from you before then.

Hello Nick,
About 4 years ago I worked with Henry Normal, producer at Baby Cow Productions, on developing my political comedy CALL OF ALLAH. It was never produced into a film, but the experience was full on and exciting.
I like the idea of your webseries and would love to direct an episode. I'm an award winning short drama film director, and this sounds like a fun idea.
Best,
Azeem

Good to see this popping up on SP again!
This project is actually completed and we didn't really go through with this model but it's definitely something I'd like to explore in the future. If anyone wants to have a chat about web-series ideas then hit me up!
