I'm a film maker from the UK, will be heading out to Vancouver in October, and wondered if there were any film makers out there who would want to work on something, or wanted help on a project whilst I was out there? I don't know anyone there, so would be cool to know someone that way before I head out.

If you don't find anyone on here I suggest having a look around on craigslist for anyone looking for that type of thing or work opportunities - for example http://vancouver.craigslist.ca/search/cwg OR http://vancouver.craigslist.ca/search/tfr. :)

That's weird. I was basically just about to write a post identical to yours.
I'm moving to Vancouver in October (23rd) and I want to find someone to shoot with...
I'm going to take it personally if you don't fancy it!
