A Walk Amongst Roses is a short about a loving and desperate husband who attempts to rekindle his relationship with his paralysed wife by inventing the world's first virtual reality machine. The film explores themes of love(and the many aspect of it) dealing with loss, Locked-In Syndrome (the condition his wife has), disability and more.

The protagonist, Michael, has spent the past three years creating a virtual reality machine for his wife who has now applied for an assisted suicide programme, he uses the machine to try and change her mind, his wife Rose now has to make a decision of whether she wants to continue living in this fantasy world where the two of them can do anything, or to continue with her assisted suicide.

I'm looking for a producer to become a key player in creating this short film and helping to bring a fantastic team and production together. I will be there along the entire way as I'm interested in being involved as more than just the writer, I have production experience but am looking for somebody more experienced in this field to take charge in this aspect.

The current budget is £2,000 and further funding will be sought via sponsors, grants and crowdfunding.

As the script has recently been completed I am the sole person involved on this project as of this post, whilst finding a great producer is my priority at the moment, the project will also be needing talented directors, crew and cast to bring it to life, if this is a project you find interesting and you have the ability please feel free to contact me, if you have any industry-friends you believe may be great for the project that'd also be fantastic for you to refer them.

Locked-In Syndrome is a real life condition and research on real life cases has been done to handle this concept realistically and to explore these themes in a unique way.

I spent a lot of time researching real life cases of this horrible condition, to give you an idea of the condition and what the film will be juxtaposing (the trapped inside your body) with the virtual reality aspect (being able to do anything in a virtual world) I have provided a link below.
