Any London based Producers want to read a short-film about homelessness?

I am a writer and actor... working towards directing my first short. Funding in pending from NI Screen but the short is set in London. It is about a controversial policy of dealing with homelessness that was widespread during the 'clean up' for the Olympics under the then Mayor Boris Johnson..

I am interested in speaking to any small companies / producers who have an interest in making Topical short-films and might take a look at the script & consider getting involved.

Hi Damien
I've helped out my local Homeless Charity with video work to help with fundraising, and won the Chelmsford Film festival for Best Documentary short about an ex homeless guy, in collaboration with the homeless charity. So I would be interested in looking at your script.
I'm a self shooting "Preditor" using the 5.7K Panasonic EVA-1 Cine Camera and a GH5 as B-Cam on a Ronin Gimbal and a CAA approved Drone Pilot, together with matching broadcast audio gear, kit is not an issue.

The homeless doc is called "A game of Chess" - TBH its not great, but I did everything myself in just under 2 weeks to make sure it got into the Festival, so its a bit rushed. Another piece of work on my homepage is an interview for a film trailer A Helical, good audio, and a shot it with the EVA-1 and GH5 so a good example of how the two grade together.

Hey Damien,

This sounds like a really interesting script, I'd love to hear more. I'm a director and producer focused on creating social impact films. Most of my work revolves around homelessness and related issues - I directed Sleeping Rough, a docudrama film and campaign (you can read about it here: https://pastlesproductions.com/sleeping-rough/), as well a number of other short docs focused on homelessness. I also work as a TEDx speaker and consultant on arts projects about homelessness, ensuring the projects are offering a truthful and positive portrayal of the issue.

I love storytelling for social change and this sounds like an intriguing idea. I would love to give the script a read. I have produced 2 NI Screen/BFI Network funded short films before.
