Am aware of Wordpress, Wix and Weebly. Any others? Would you like to share your website with me? Am looking to beef up this: http://digitalbootcamp.wikispaces.com/4.+Sales%2C+marketing+and+distribution. Thanks.

I'd consider creating a simple page in something like Wordpress linking to a Vimeo album. It makes it very easy to update - in fact, I have made a couple of portfolio sites which can be updated by the website owner rather than me as the website software links to the album dynamically. It also means that the amount of storage you need (and the bandwidth, for that matter) for your site is minimal since all the video material is stored elsewhere.

Hey James, we used wordpress for our shot film website; www.maninfear.com and it works well as I'm pretty much a luddite but I can update it easily enough - the opposite of our film co website www.fracturedfilms.com which was done in HTML and we have to go back to the designer for everything. Will

Hi James, Yola's pretty good (if basic if you don't pay for all the mod cons). I made my website with Yola - www.leehutchingsfilms.com. Feel free to check it out and see what I did with the basic package. Cheers.

Well if you have the know how, you could layout your design in Photoshop and drop into Dreamweaver to structure for web. You would have an edge over blog based sites regarding design and functionality but it is a little more donkey work...
A graphic designer and coder would be needed to maximise your hit rate, especially if your embedding social media. Plenty of people out there that would work on a low flat rate for this...

Yeah I've got two running off the same template from Wordpress (heavily customised by me): www.writerightnow.co.uk and www.copywritenow.co.uk. It's a very powerful and customisable tool, there's really no need to use anything else - and nothing to pay except hosting fees. I previously used Wix which was much more limited. Website building software generally hides too much of the detail to adapt it how you want, but Wordpress makes it easy to edit the code as you need to (and also has a massive community of support for doing so).

Hey James, certainly wordpress is great, for more complex websites one can use joomla or drupal but it's quite complex and time consuming to learn. I have a friend who professionally creates websites very cheaply and discounts for non-profits if that's of use?
