Anybody have any advice for shooting in France?

4 years, 4 months ago - Sam Ainsworth

I've been hired by an American company to produce a small shoot (interview/masterclass) in Paris end of May.
I'm currently planning how best to approach it from an insurance/finance perspective, as I will be hiring French freelancers to be crew for the production.

Does anyone have any experience with this? I'm going to be talking to my UK accountant who helps with my limited company here, but have been told by my insurer, that it'll be difficult insure French freelancers hired by my company.

Wondering if anyone has set up a French company for this type of thing, and how easy that was? Or whether I can set one up in Germany, where I also have residency, in order to complete it. Or perhaps there's an alternative option somebody has an idea on.

Thanks in advance!

From an insurance POV, it's all about risk.

Uk insurers are not day to day dealing with the French.

But FRENCH insurers are.

I'd start by talking to French insurance companies. Hope that they will cover people freelancing for your UK company.

Brill thanks Marlom. I'll have a dig around for some French ones.
