The Florida Independent Filmmakers, a 501c3, is running a screenplay contest.

Do you have a script that you've been working on that you'd like to see made into a film? Do you have a story idea that you've been wanting to turn into a screenplay? Would you like to see your work shown on the big screen at festivals and gatherings? Would you like to see your name in the credits of an award winning movie? Well, here's your chance. FIF is putting out a Call For Scripts and we want to hear from you!

Here's what we're looking for, your story must...

● Be submitted in standard screenplay format (see http://bit.ly/1nhu8i6 for tips.)

● Be 10 pages or less (roughly equal to 10 minutes of screen time or less.)

● Take place at or near 1 location (for instance inside a house, but using more than one room inside that house is ok.)

● Be any subject or genre as long as it warrants an PG-13 rating or less.

● Be your own original work, or you must be able to prove ownership of rights, and you must be able to assign limited rights to FIF for production and presentation purposes.

● Be emailed to ShoutOut@FloridaIndependentFilmmakers.com along with an FIF script release (releases are available for download from the About Us page of our website.)

● If you’ve ever submitted a script to us in the past and want us to re-consider it again, you must re-submit the most recent version of your script along with a new script release form.

● The deadline for script submissions is midnight Friday, September 18, 2015.

Scripts that do not conform to the above guidelines will be rejected.

After the deadline an FIF selection panel will identify the top scripts and post them to our website along with an online voting poll. Scripts and voting poll will be secure, only FIF members will be able to login, view and vote. Our membership will choose the one film project they'd most like to work on. Once we have a winning script, FIF will begin the process of turning it into a movie.

The FIF board of directors will select a Producer who will develop an initial shoot schedule so potential crew can decide if it fits their calendar and if they want to participate. FIF members will get preferential selection for key production roles such as Director, Editor and DP. Unclaimed crew positions will be announced and may be filled by anyone in the filmmaking community. If you are interested in volunteering for the crew please keep in mind this will be a non-pay, non-union, micro-budget film shot in Central Florida. Additional details will follow once a script is selected.

For more information about FIF membership, or to read more about who we are and what we do, please see our website. If you know someone else who might be interested, please share this message.

If you have any other questions please don't hesitate to drop us a line!
