INDEXAnyone know a Warehouse/Yard Location in London?
6 years ago - Kevin Rainey
Hey
I’m shooting part of a micro budget short in London on Sunday 4th August. Trying to find a sort of yard or abandoned warehouse where we can shoot a scene in a parked car. Budget is very tight but can pay a days rent if reasonable.
Does anyone know someone with a similar property. I’ve already reached out to a lot of the suitable place in gumtree but was hoping someone here might be able to pull out some magic.

I'm pretty much looking for the same exact thing.. to shoot either 4th or 5th!
There's a place on gumtree (search for derelict), but they charge quite a bit.

I've spent the last 3 months searching for cheap warehouse locations in London and the cheapest options are found in the rundown industrial estates in NW London - Harlesden, Hanger Lane, etc. You need to go down there and scout locations and speak to the managers, etc. Otherwise, you're dealing with location agencies and paying in excess of £500/day.

There's a studio for hire in Deptford that has a yard. You can see a photo of the yard on this page - https://studiohire.com/studioview.php?studioID=3240
Not sure if there is vehicular access to the yard though.

Forget that studio I mentioned, for I've just had this advice from them: "The access to the yard is though single door so no not unless the car can be carried in on its side. "

Thanks all for the advice. I’ll try that Davina.
Good luck with yours Amer. If I somehow manage to find a place I’ll let you know as I only need it for 4th. 5th is a different location.

The guys at Belt Craft studios are super lovely and can be accommodating to smaller budgets if it's non-commercial. Not sure you can get a car in there but I think I've seen a large gate on the outside from memory. Hope it helps someone anyway.... :)
