Anyone know how to license cover versions for a short film?

I am unsure how to go about it, any advice gratefully received...

EMI and Warner Bros do a deal for short films, you can get a song licensed for one year festival screening only for £250 per track for publishing rights and the same for performers rights if you want to use the original artist. We just used two clips for our short... a grand but it looks and sounds fantastic. Both have brilliant websites leading you through the process, hope this is of help, marc lucero

You want to license tracks to be performed by your own artists? Prsformusic.com will do the clearance for you HOWEVER the publishing rights to popular songs are not cheap, may be better to use Production music or find some creative commons tracks you like
