Anyone know of an abandoned/derelict farmhouse in the vicinity of London and the home counties available for a film shoot Mid July for 3 weeks?

The farmhouse would need to be available for the whole duration of the prep and shoot: July 8th - August 3rd

Stephaine,

That is a interesting location to source being based in W Sussex there are alot of farmhouse type buildings not sure if any fit the description of 'abandoned/derelict.' I've been up to Hassocks recently I think there are a few around there. You might have to ring around and ask permission so fourth. Not sure about london itself you would have to be well into Kent, to find what might suit.

sound interesting hope some of that is useful and best of luck with your search!

Regards

John

For 3 weeks you might hit problems - being derelict means it's unlikely to have power or sewerage connections, and frankly the location may be dangerous. You're also at the mercy of the weather if the roof is weak/giving up. And of course, derelict doesn't mean 'not owned', with all the palaver of renting it from the owners, dealing with neighbours, etc.

Once you cost out the hire and the genny hire etc, might be better to get a day of establisher on Site then take all the interiors into a studio where you can control things a lot more closely, have parking, hot food, on the tube, longer working days, less chance of getting kit nicked, less to secure, etc.
