Are Lens Adapters Useless?

It seems like there are going to be problems using auto focus/ freezing issues etc etc I am interested in the Sony A6500 with Metabones but they don't support autofocus or have other issues :( anyone have any experience ? Thanks

To me a lens adapter is just a way to put and lens on a camera that has a different mount to that of the lens. Autofocus is not a problem for me as I've never used it. Also for most of my career lens metadata was always manually recorded by the 2nd AC so if a lens adapter doesn't allow for the digital transmission of metadata, it's not a problem as it can be done manually.

Far from useless - they give you options you didn't have before! Things like autofocus etc are just modern frills, and it's probably good practice to learn to do without them in case they ever break down yet you want to continue working!
