Are there any Cinematography workshops in the UK or USA?

9 years, 4 months ago - Matt Kerins

Looking to brush up and travel a little, and be around other Cinematographers to learn from. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Red Digital Cinema runs "REDucation" workshops to help become fluent on their equipment and workflow. Google it. It's not cheap. Some rental houses may do the same at times or may design bespoke training if you ask. Gear Factory in Bloomsbury used to.

There are loads of workshops, short courses, training days, open days run by hire houses (check out VMI). The NFTS run short courses. Companies like Red, Cooke, Tiffen have open days with people on hand to discuss equipment with you. And the various guilds such (in the case of the Camera department), the BSC, GBCT and ACO are commited to training (check out their websites). Lots of Networking too, screenings with Q & As. BECTU also run training courses. Skillset is a good place to start. Check out their website.
