INDEXAre there any drone, quad-copters, UAS pilots?

How much do you charge? Are you CAA approved? What about the urban, crowded area restrictions? Can you attach anything heavier than GoPro, ie: GH4 type cam? Does your drone come with stabilising gimble?. No drone flights allowed in Spain and UK becomes more and more restricted. Is there a list of CAA approved operators/drone pilots to hire? Im looking for one in April but am reading there's lot of red tapes about drones and their connectivity problems at certain altitude and a very short battery live. Any given advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Marlom - interesting article for India! But for DJI who released the Phantom 3 this week, it's making drone flying even easier and safer. Shame the licensing isn't getting any easier!

No drones in Spain? AFAIK they simply have a tightly regulated system, as do a growing number of countries.

To paraphrase an old saying about how a chicken is involved in a fried breakfast, by providing the egg, the pig is committed, as bacon. Aircraft pilots are committed to their flight, but drone pilots are merely involved in it.
Drones are likely to suffer more in flight structural failures than light aircraft, and even the US military pilots crash their drones at quite a high rate. It's no surprise that Gvts are imposing what basically amounts to "thou shall not crash onto some poor bastard" rules.

I too took the plunge and am taking my pilots licensing this month. Currently own a DJI Inspire 1 with 4k camera.

I can show you how it works and actually film some stuff for you to see but you cant pay me for it till I get my ticket after 22nd April.
Obviously, it depends upon what you want and where you want to film it. I would suggest thoroughly planning any shoot and doing a risk assessment before hand.
Hope this helps.
