Are there any effective methods one can employ to monitor pre preproduction while obsorbed in the casting for a long time? (prepping WW2 Feature)

Had extensive casting response while have not pinned the screenplay don't as the visual complexities are challenging to finetune. some cast are busier than other but support for the concept would be greatly received. asking for systematic ways of doing pre preproduction on this scale.
