Are there any grants available for Post Sound freelancers?

I'm a struggling Sound Designer with a degree in Sound Design and I want to begin work as a freelancer but being poor I can't afford to get better equipment. I've done plenty of free work to try and get myself out there but so far it hasn't led me anywhere really! Are there any grants available for freelancers starting out to help them get started?

Can the Princes Trust help? Bank loan? Supplier finance? Rent as you need?

Basically, businesses are expected to be viable profit-making entities, so there are not really many grants.
