Are there funding options for traveling to Film Festivals abroad?

7 years ago - Andrew Rutter

I know this is a dreaded funding question, but I've had a film accepted in to Hollyshorts which is only next month, but as you can imagine flights to the US are extortionate during this period. I was only notified yesterday that I'd got in so didn't really have chance to book in advance. So the question is, are there places that help finance travel to film festivals?

Would be great to hear if anyone has any experience with this!

Thanks

Hi Andrew,

The British Council Film department have historically had travel grants available for travelling to festivals, so worth seeing if they still offer it.

Good luck with it!

Yes, they help makers of short films, but not indi features! Go figure. I've just got into Busan IFF with a feature and can't find any support!
