Are you the Merchant to my Gervais?

7 years, 9 months ago - Max Ward

I am looking for somebody, preferably London based, to write comedy with.

I have an MA in writing for screen and stage, and have just finished my first short.

I have several ideas in development, and I'm looking for somebody passionate about comedy, with a similar sense of humour (!), who shares my ambition to make the next great UK comedy series....

So, if you want to be the Merchant to my Gervais, please get in contact!

As long as you're not like David Brent, would be keen to chat... are you still looking for a co-conspirator?
I've just finished a BA in Creative Writing, specialising in Screen and Stage writing. Comedy and comedy/drama is my thing... Would love to make the next great UK comedy series. Let me know if you're still searching - M

I've been looking to create a short film that would reflect the writing and directing style of Martin McDonagh (In Bruges, Seven Psychopaths). I'd definitely be up for a chat.

Would you recommend an MA in Filmmaking verses honing the skill of directing on your own (i.e. getting the camera out in your own time and shooting with friends etc)?

As a way of putting myself around the right people in order to create a film, I have been thinking about doing a part-time MA in film making/directing at a London Uni or film school. I would be doing so alongside my current full-time job, however I'm not convinced doing an MA would be the best use of my time and money (verses getting a crew together & learning the ropes on my own). Would be great to hear some opinions from people in the industry!
