Best timeline setting for audio in Final Cut 7

10 years, 8 months ago - Matthew Lawrence

Hi,

I'm editing a film in Final Cut 7 and wanted to check the best audio setting to use for my timeline. The camera sound is 48/16 but the sound recordist audio is 96/24. If I set the timeline audio to 96/24 will this cause any sync issues as the camera sound was recorded at a different sample rate? Am I better off converting the sound recordist audio to 48/16?

Once the film is picture locked the sound will be edited and mixed by someone else and then I'll be given an audio file to sync back up to the timeline.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks,
Matthew
