INDEXBest way to meet producer collaborators?

Hi, I've been out of the film community for quite a while since starting a family; but now ready to refocus. I worked in theatre and film since 2003; made shorts, dis, a feature, many theatre productions. Then had kids and it came to a grinding halt.
Over this time I've been running a commercial video production. But now I'm looking to get back into developing film projects. Through my work I have a financial opportunity, and looking to finalise development of a project.
Although I still have lots of connections still with actors and crew; my initial goal is to just meet like-minded people - attend events, discuss projects, support each other etc. With an urgency to find a producer to collaborate on the project with and help my develop projects effectively.
I've looked around on various sites and here, and just wondered if anyone had any advice on how best to meet new people, find collaborators - I don't mind do a call out, but build relationships. This opportunity I have has meant I want to move pretty quickly, so want to dive into this.
Any advice would be amazing. Thank you.

Hi Darren. Cool. Best regular networking opportunity I've found in London (and I've tried a MANY) for meeting more serious, experienced film people and also having plenty of time to talk are the Cinecircle networking events held in a bar on Rivington Street near to Old Street tube / Shoreditch High Street overland that often follow a seminar but tickets can be bought for about a fiver for just the networking through eventbright. They aren't advertising one at the moment but they seem to do maybe 6 or so a year? Look out for them if you are based in / visiting London.
All the best!

Hi Darren,
Script Pitch is a resource available to Shooting People members to find collaborators for their films: https://shootingpeople.org/scriptpitch/
"Script Pitch is a database of script outlines and story ideas uploaded by members of Shooting People. Directors and Producers in the Shooting People community, as well as Production Companies, Agents and Distributors, can search Script Pitch for screenplays they want to develop and writers they want to work with."
If you keep an eye out on the events calendar, you'll see listings for upcoming networking events for filmmakers: https://shootingpeople.org/events/
Also, Raising Films might be a helpful organisation for you to look into. Raising Films supports parents and carers working in the UK screen sector: https://www.raisingfilms.com/
Best of luck with it,

Hi Darren,
In my 70s, I have just hung up my director boots, having completed a self funded short drama film I wrote and directed. However, I do have both screenplays for more short drama films and a collection of drama perfermance soliloqies, workshop scenes and a play, if you are looking for drama material to direct. If you're interested, please contact me by e-mail at nicholas.prosser@gmail.com

As well as the good suggestions mentioned, RTS also hold in person events that would allow for more random interactions following the event - usually a talk by professionals. WGGB sometimes has some online events. Film Twitter meet up a few times a year in London. In Bristol, we've Tabb that hold networking events, usually held after a guest talk. Directors UK might also have events. And LSF is happening in April.
