Hello, I've been given an official invitation to the British Films Market, but I just wanted to find out if anyone in this SP community has been to BFM before and what they thought of it please?
I've not been before and don't know much about it, so I'm interested to get some feedback, if possible.
I've been to Cannes a few times so I'm guessing it might be a smaller version of that, but without the festival side?

Hi!
I've spent more time than I would like to admit at film markets. BFM isn't like Cannes Film Festival, but more like Cannes Marche du Film. Meaning, these are markets where people go to sell the projects that are already made. If you're lucky, a buy from a territory that doesn't already show your projects for free will find you and be willing to pay for the rights to show your (film, tv show, etc) in their territory in whatever format they represent (theatrical presentation, streaming, television, etc.) It's kind of the boring part of the process, to be honest. If. you've never been to a film market, it may be worth going as a learning experience, but don't be caught by surprise that it isn't as glamourous as a Canne Filme Festival. Hope this helps!

Thanks ever so much for your response. Yes sorry I mean't the Cannes Marche du FIlm. Would you mind if I contacted you please, I have a couple of questions about film markets which might help my decision in going to the BFM, if you don't mind?
