building c assistant / Dop relationship in the log run?

Just wondering about a key dvce on building strong long term rerlationships between Camera asistants and DOPs whether its on shorts or featue etc? - trying to hav good strong contacts with DOp and camera assistants in general.

Hi John,

Not sure whether you're looking to build relationships with assistants, and yourself as DoP, or just build good crew relationships as a producer...?

As a DoP I have a regular assistant who I have worked with for a couple of years now, and other camera assistants I work with on specific gigs or when my regular assistant isn't available. But those relationships work like any other relationship really, whereby you gravitate towards people who you like to work with and be around, and you nurture that relationship like any other. Working on a variety of projects you learn together.
