I have 3 pages, sketching out an act for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and I am looking for a performer. Can anyone offer me any advise as to how I get in contact with performers. It is written for a man but may be funnier if it is performed by a woman.
I am very happy to make this available to anyone who wants to take a look at it.

Are you planning on underwriting the shows expenses, inc actor bed and board? If so, prepare for swarms of actors duelling to death for the right to just audition :-)
If not, and what you need to know is "who's going, and how do I reach them to see if they will include my work in their show" then I'd start with the Fringe office.

Casting Call Pro said that they take the posting. What sort of world are we living in when a human being is not allowed to have a personally reasonable relationship with a twenty foot plank of wood?

Shit, I made a huge mistake. I didn't mean the book 'An Actor's Guilde to Getting Work'. I meant page 248 of the 'Actor's Yearbook 2013'. Are you able to cancel your ordering of 'An Actor's Guide...' and to buy the 'Actor's Yearbook...' instead? SO SO SORRY KEITH!!!!

Unfortunately, I have not been inundated. I have however, made a posting on Casting Call Pro. Thank you so much for your help. I would never have thought of doing this.

I'd say you've already been inundated by actresses already by advertising on here but if not Casting Call Pro is a good website and can't be beaten by the oracle of Spotlight, you have to be accredited to be on spotlight so it gives you a bar of performance. Actors, if they are worth their salt will also be on here because we do film as well as theatre, I am!!! Most actors will also have a website (example link below) so you can watch their show reel/ see their voice demos before you arrange to meet face to face. Hope this helps,

You can always check out the section titled 'The Edinburgh Festival Fringle' on page 207 of the book 'An Actor's Guide to Getting Work'. I found this section really good as I've written a play and wanted to take it to Edinburgh.
