INDEXCan anyone recommend a service in London to clean a 35mm CMOS sensor?

Ideally for less than £70, if such a service exists in London. Its for a Canon 5D MkII. I've tried it myself but clearly dont have the dust free/static free environment required, as I just seem to have made it worse.

Hi Reuben
I used a company called EuroHiTech for three separate repairs, 1 to a camera (5D mkII) and 2&3 to canon lenses (24-70 f2.8 L & 50mm f1.4). In every case I was reasonable charged in comparison to Fixation who in one instance quoted for for an unecessary repair, and the turnaround was also pretty quick at EuroHiTech.
Hope this helps. Best wishes.

Fixation in South london have always been great.. They can usually do it in a day but you might need to book it in.

Hi Reuben,
I suggest that you contact Fixation - 250 Kennington Ln, Greater London SE11 5RD - 020 7582 3294 - they offer a sensor clean for £55
I'm sure they will be able to help you although you might have to leave it with them. Park Camera in Burgess Hill do a sensor cleaning service while you wait for £60 but you will need to make an appointment first. ( 01444 237070 )

Hi,
I work in a London rental house and I use Photographic solutions sensor swabs (dry one in combination with their solvent). I do it myself regularly. Have no fear, there is an OLPF in front of the sensor, you are not touching the actual sensor. Only make sure you blow out any particles off the surface of the glass using a blower and a soft brush for cleaning lenses. Otherwise you risk scratching it when you start wipping it with the swab. Don't waste your money, do it yourself.
