Can anyone recommend a suitable venue for audtions??

Hello everyone

I am looking to hold auditions for my upcoming webseries pilot.

I was wondering if anyone knows a cheap venue for this purpose. I would need it for next week or the week after. I need the venue for 4 hours maybe 5.

Budget a £100!

I don’t have much of a budget I’m afraid. I have put all of the money into locations, equipment and the pay for cast and crew.

I am open to suggestions-anywhere in London. Nothing fancy, just a room will do plus a waiting room for the actors.

As always any advice is much appreciated.

Thank you guys

You could try MakeSpaceStudios in Waterloo http://www.makespacestudios.com/London_Art_Studios/Space_Hire.html. Not overly expensive.

I held auditions at the Prince of Wales pub http://www.taylor-walker.co.uk/pub/prince-of-wales-covent-garden/c0659/ They let us use one of their function rooms for free (it was on Saturday, from 3pm onwards). They were really nice and helpful, the space was a big room with light and on second floor overlooking busy, but nice small square. It was great considering its a Covent Garden area (actors appreciated that too).

Try it and good luck!

I hold all my auditions in local hotels, who usually have small conference rooms available at weekends, and then your actors can wait in an impressive hotel lounge. You will need a runner to collect them when you are ready. If you explain your situation to the manager they will often be helpful. I was charged £30 for 6 hours on a Sunday earlier this year.
Hope that's helpful. Good luck.

Hi Shez
Didn't hear from you yesterday re: the pencil on our 500sqft room at SOHOST in Berwick Street this Friday.
Do you no longer need it after all? We were happy to let you have the space within your budget - so I'm a little
confused. Can you let me know if I should release or confirm the room for you. Had to post here, as you're email address is no longer working.
Kind regards
Kiki

Pub backrooms are usually available during the daytime - see if they'll let you use the room in return for buying your budget's worth of lunches, coffee, soft drinks and beer from them whilst you're there?

Awesome! I have been in touch with Rag and Sohost. Both have been very helpful.

Thanks everyone :)

Hi Shahid,
You could try the Rag Factory over in Shoreditch I hear it's very reasonable.
Good luck with it all,
Louise

Diarmuid
I emailed them twice but no response so far. I also called them and no one picked up.

Kate and Louise thanks girls
I have looked at their site, might just be what I am looking for, location wise very easy for actors to get to.
I have emailed them and waiting for them to get back to me.

Paddy thanks as always. but first I will see how rag pans out.

Thanks everyone
