Can I use a mask from a different film/tv show in a short without breaching copyright?

We would like to use 3 masks from Naruto series in a short film but are wondering whether this would be a breach of copyright laws? I know of course that you can't have logos seen i.e. nike, adidas etc. but does this apply to the likeness for a mask or something else that doesn't have a specific logo? Any production designers / producers out there who could help us out would be massively appreciated !

It's someone else's IP for sure, that said you may or may not get away with it. If you're using it *because* it's a Naruto mask, you're definitely over the line. If it's a pretty bland mask which could be any old mask, you're closer to the right side.

Hi Steven,
In an early short with little thought to copyright, I was alerted to the fact that the cuddly toy from a French company could land me in trouble. I contacted them and after a couple of exchanges of emails to verify exactly how it would be used and if it would affect their brand, they were happy - always worth a shout, then if 'no' go with bland mask instead or invent your own?
