I have worked in CGI animation for several years and I am now interested in trying my hand at traditional stop frame animation.

Can anyone offer me some suggestions of what is a good digital camera that I could use on a small budget that would give me decent broadcast quality images and not break the bank.

I appreciate it is not a very original question but a lot of internet discussions on this subject are several years old and technology advances very quickly.

Any advice on the best frame capture software would also be greatly appreciated this is a grey area for me.
