INDEXCollaboration for a new series of micro-documentaries
2 years, 5 months ago - Michelle Hammond
Good Morning All,
I run an International health and wellness education company that is well reputed and well established in the global wellness sector.
I want to create a series of micro-documentary style pieces that educate, empower and inspire professionals to better support clients living with and beyond specific dis-eases and health challenges (cancer, dementia, coronary heart disease, immune disorders, diabetes, mental health and menopause being the key areas we focus in on), whilst also showcasing the power of touch and effective way to integrative advances in science with complementary therapies and ancient wellness practises and techniques in the modern world.
I have the outline scripts and story boards (although open to input), we have a wealth of contributing experts and specialists ready and willing to support and no shortage of options for stunning spa / hotel / resort locations and brands wanting to get involved. I have some basic video and editing skills, but am looking for someone who might be interested in collaborating on this new project who is experienced as a video journalist and palpably passionate about all things health and wellness.
Any questions and / or if of interest please reach out to me directly at Connect@tpot.org.uk to discuss further.
Warm Regards
Michelle

HI Michelle,
Just read your announcement on on Shooting People for a collaboration in creating micro documentaries. Want to share that my team has a full scale, feature length documentary t that traces the trajectory of HIV/AIDS within America's African American community. Here is our trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PHuFCwYON8w
If what we do runs along the lines of the type of mini docs you envision, let's discuss collaboration.
Respectfully,

My family has been devastated by diabetes. My grandfather was type 2. My sister became type 1 in her teens, moved the Egypt with her husband where her condition was uncontrolled, became blind and had to raise two children. She died in her 40s and her husband died shortly after that with diabetic complications. Her son is diabetic and her daughter overweight so at risk. I was recently diagnosed prediabetic but have thankfully kept in remission by careful dieting and lifestyle.
Our cat is diabetic, needs regular insulin and I have just invested in Novo-Nordisk, one of the world’s largest producers of insulin. So I have both skin and money in the game!
One thing I noticed recently is how few supermarkets stock sugar-free foods - lots of gluten free, dairy free products etc but sugar-free is difficult and sometimes impossible to find in even the largest shops. There is lots available online but it is expensive and postage costs often prohibitive.
Anyone with a sugar craving, weight problems etc finds it difficult to satisfy their sweet tooth and stay healthy.
Also eating out is very difficult. Most main dishes in restaurants rely on refined carbs - chips, potatoes, white rice etc and desserts are usually full of sugars.
A campaign needs to be started to encourage all supermarkets, shops and restaurants to have sugar-free selections available. I am in the ealy stages of researching the practicalities of running a sugar-free foods business.
I am a filmmaker who worked for the BBC for many years and would be happy to help with and set up promotional films.
I am based in Fulham and also in Kent .
