Hello,
when I signed up to Shooting People, I did so with a mind to gain some experience as a composer, to build up a showreel, etc. Unfortunately, as my membership approaches renewel, I've found that I've either applied for jobs after a composer has been sought and found OR there have been long periods where the newsletter containing postings hasn't contained anything composer related.
Of course this is something which just can't be helped and I don't resent anything but I'd hoped I might have been able to help with a few productions and have something to show people by now.
As such, I wondered if there are any filmmakers who might like to talk about things they're planning in the future or even to a filmmaker who might be prepared to help me out by letting me create an alternate score for one of your existing shorts.
I know other composers might look dimly on this sort of thing, but I feel like if I don't speak up and just keep waiting for the right opportunity, then I may never speak to anyone. Similarly, if you're reading this and thinking you might like to just chat through what you're planning, and see if you think we might have similar ideas, or if you think you might like to offer some help by letting me loose on something you've already completed, please do!

Looks like you're getting a good response to this thread – sometimes that slightly more proactive mode of operating is all it takes.
I run a little filmmaking collaborative group in London, if you'd like to be on the mailing list then drop me a line to nick[@]theclapperbored.com . There are several projects that I anticipate will be looking for composers in the next few months.
