Cutting a doc made in 2009 down to a 10 minute doc in 2013. Is it now considered a "new" doc.?

In 2009 I completed a 36 min. doc. Now - 2013, thinking about cutting it down to a 10 minute doc, & submitting it into festivals. Is it now considered a "new" doc?

Hi Cassi, yes this is a new piece of work, just as if you found a lot of interesting footage, pictures and sounds by research, and made that into a film. I would change the title as well. Looking at it you may find you can add a little something to it. At any rate, the new cut will be substantially different from the old.
