INDEXDCP Production in London- Looking for recommendations!
9 years, 3 months ago - William Webb
I need to make a DCP of my last film for a film festival screening- does anyone have any recommendations for London-based, skilled and (preferably!) cheap DCP production?
For reference, it's an 8 minute short and would be supplied as a ProRes file.

Dear William,
I recommend Soho Digital: sohodigitalcinema.com
They aren't particularly cheap - but they are in central London, very experienced and exacting. Good luck!

I could do that for you. I've done several in 3D that are now doing the festivals, so a 2D one would be a breeze. Send me a PM and I'm sure I can undercut the commercial rates and maybe even arrange a test screening in a cinema - which isn't entirely neccessary because I have a DCP player here, but it is great to see up there and it gives you confidence.

Hi Will, I can recommend this chap very highly - http://www.dcpfoundry.co.uk/ - did us a very good job indeed for a competitive price on my last feature project "Scar Tissue". Alan D.

Hi William, I need DCP as well for screening at festival in 4wks and was looking into it. Why there's so much variety in ways people convert the format? I hear it could costs an arm and a leg or literatualy nothing, and both results are usually fine. By nothing I mean converting with plugin on Premiere CC, export to Wraptor DCP at 2K Flat Res. What are the pros and cons of doing in such way, I'm not sure. Also, is the footage needing to be converted to 24p beforehand and colour graded differently using Davinci resolve? I would be interested, what one should pay for 75min, ProRes 25p. Good luck with your conversion! Im sure you'd get a very good deal.

We (Cinebox) specialise in creating DCPs for film festivals and independent film-makers.
We have made all the DCPs for London Short Film Festival for the past 2 years (567 films in the festival this year!), as well as Flatpack Festival (Birmingham), Picturehouse, Animate Projects and many others.
Due to the massive variety of materials we've encountered over the years, we've developed robust processes which can catch common problems with source materials and fix them before DCP encoding.
For short films under 20 mins, our fee is £100, but we can offer a 20% discount to Shooters. So £80.
This includes:
- Technical QC of source files
- Conversion to 24fps (if source is 25fps)
- Normalisation of audio levels to cinema standard
- Authoring of DCP
- USB stick containing DCP - DCI-standard Linux-formatted USB which can be ingested directly into a cinema server
- Your DCP hosted online for 3 months - a link you can send direct to film festivals - no more print transport problems!
- Free UK postage
We are cheaper than most, and please note that our prices include the delivery USB and postage (others add this on top).
We also make DCPs of features and longer shorts - please contact us for a quote.
