A few months back i shot a music video for someone in the UK and edited a music video that was not shot by me and i was paid a small (not complete) amount. My question is since then i have fallen out with the artist due to 'unprofessionalism' and also my tripod was damaged during the shoot which was not replaced or covered for (no insurance). Now since then he rang me today asking for all the footage i agreed to give him the Edited version of another music that i didn't shoot. But the music video i shot, is my property. He wants to "go to the police" about it. I want to know is the footage that i shot/directed with my camera, MY property and he has no legal use over it? I did offer him the chance to buy the tapes/footage but he refused. He say's it's his property because he arranged everything & bought the DV tapes. There was no paperwork involved, just verbal, mutual agreements. Please help! Thanks!
