Do people reply often in the opportunities section here?

I just wondered, as I applied to a few things on here, not many, but no one ever responds?

I always try to respond to everyone when I do a posting (not done any on here yet) but just thought it would be common curtesy of people who are more often than not looking for people to work for free, or for a lower wage, that they could at least have an e message that they could even paste to people, just to say, thank you for your application, but you've not been successful this time, lol.

Maybe it's just me, I don't know, you can't say it's because they get so many apply, as I've put out loads of postings and have had hundreds, apply and have always to my knowledge replied to them all.

Funny thing is, if someone famous applied, they would be all over it like a fly on ****

Anyway, rant over, good luck to you genuine people who strive for success,

Lance

I'm guilty. I posted a job here a while back and the interface for managing job applicants is quite clunky here, tracking who you've said what to when there's 20+ applicants for an ad you leave up for 24h, plus people who message you direct, email, send through my website, etc. In this case I was elbow-deep in a feature, handed the list ) but not my account) over to a production coordinator to sort through. In fact the poor interface here is why I use FTVP in particular, at least I can send a bulk message there. I tend to post reasonably paid roles, so get huge amounts of interest when I do, having to close postings fast!

So I do agree, and in a better world of have got back individually to everyone, but by the time you manage the obviating process, check IMDb pages, pass profiles on to whichever department, and they want to meet person X, but may have a role for one of the others, but then you also have to make the dates work...it can be such a pain in the butt that starting individual dialogues is the last thing you're able to do. Not ideal, and I gather SP are looking to improve that whole interface so it'll be easier to be polite at least...!
