INDEXDo you have a feature script suitable for Microwave?
9 years, 1 month ago - Zoe Cunningham
Hi
Some of you might recognise me as I've been tapping up writers via Script Pitch.
I'm looking for a script for a feature film that can be shot on £150k budget to submit to the Microwave film competition at the start of July. http://filmlondon.org.uk/feature-film-funding/
I am an actor and producer. I have produced two short films with director Marianna Dean and we are keen to move on to feature projects. I produce films in order than I can act in them, so scripts would also need to contain a significant role for a 30-40 year old woman.
Outside of film, I am the MD of a 130 person software agency, so I'm pretty good at getting things done. My husband is a professional bid writer and he will be helping with the Microwave application.
Please do get in touch if you have a script that you think could be suitable.
Thanks
Zoe

Hi Zoe,
Thank you for posting on here, I am a writer/director who was worked on three feature films and three short films and am currently developing a feature film script with two lead characters, a man and woman, both between 30-40 years, so it might be of interest to you! I can email you the details of the script if you would be interested and the script would definitely be fully completed before the Microwave deadline of the 13th of July! I am also always more than happy with collaboration so would be excited to work with you and your husband on the script and story so that it adapts to your intentions for the project! My email is arnie_voysey@msn.com if you would be interested in finding out more about the script!
Many thanks
Arnie

I have one that has a 30-40 year old woman in the lead role but it is set in Southern California. Let me know if that might work.

Hi Zoe,
I have a micro budget feature COUNTDOWN (thriller - dark comedy) (essentially one location - interior; exterior car park could be be anywhere) that has been optioned twice but funding has fallen through. Happy for you to try it for Microwave. Check me out at www.drtel.co.uk - latest feature I helped write at East Film Festival later this month CHASING ROBERT BARKER. Feature documentary MATTHEWS release later this year and adaptation I just completed has got funding. On a roll! Let me know if you's like to see and if you are OK with Final Draft. Good luck! Hi, Zoe,
Alas, all my Under GBP150k (USD225) are U.S. based and all my European scripts are way over that.
But is you have any projects that needs doctoring, let me know.
Lots of luck finding the right property please add me to your mailing list for any screenings.
BTW, Marianna is shooting a short I adapted from a stageplay I saw out in LA.. It's a two by a talented LA playwright, Trudi Roth. Principal photography will start on 4th July (our Independence Day, your Good Riddance Day). I'm sure you've found also Marianna an absolute delight to work with. Incredibly tenacious and dedicated and hardworking, with no preciousness or drama. Will keep you posted.

Hi Shiva
Great to hear from you! I saw your script pitch for Symbiont - it looks fantastic, and definitely out of my budget :)
Yep, working with Marianna is great. I hope the shoot for Home is Where the Park Is goes really well.
I'll definitely add you to my screening list - next one will be the short that I did with Marianna, Symptoms - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt5266274/?ref_=rvi_tt.
Take care

Hi Zoe
I have a horror script with a mother character 30-40 age range. I haven't done a proper budget yet, but with some imagination it may come in at GBP150k. I also have a sci-fi short (approx. 12mins) that I believe is very tight. This also features a woman at the higher end of your stated age range.
I am an Emmy award-winning designer, with feature film credits (12 Years A Slave etc), but I have turned to writing in the last few years. I'm really looking for serious collaboration. My website - http://www.vertigo.co.uk

Let me know.

Hi Zoe,
If you haven't already found what you're looking for, I have an low budget action/thriller for a 30-40 female protagonist already to go. Plus selling documents.
It's got a very interesting USP too.
Happy to send it over to you if are still looking.
All the best,

Dear Zoe: I am a successful creative fiction writer and have just the screenplay you seek. TITLE: PEARLS OF WISDOM
GENRE: COMEDY ADVENTURE - ULTRA LOW BUDGET
‘TWO ISLAND HOPPERS FIND MYSTERIOUS MESSAGES LEADING TO A TREASURE’
LOG LINE: Two modern day inept island hoppers find mysterious messages that lead them on a quest for a treasure that turns out to be a very profitable W.W.I.I. GI’s Joke.
ONE PAGE SYNOPSIS:
BARNEY, a mid-twenties, sun-tanned, much over weight, man along with his buddy CURTIS, also mid-twenties African-American partner travel the world in their sailboat. When they visit a tiny pacific island, their real adventure begins. They find an old W.W.I.I. bunker or so they think.
It has a mysterious message inscribed on its door way. They ask the only other player in the film, HATTIE, an elderly island woman about the island. She tells them it had been a W.W.I.I. airbase for eight pilots who were jokesters.
As our heroes investigate the mysterious bunker, they find it is not what they had believed. In fact, it merely leads them to an interior second mysterious room with further silly rhymes that lead them on their quest for black island pearls.
As they unravel each newly found mysterious poetic rhyme leading to the next one, they get closer and closer to the treasure. They find, however, that it is not in the old bunker but rather in the old wishing well.
Barney is chosen to be lowered into the well and search for the black pearls. In time, he recovers all that the well has hidden in its depths.
The film ends with the two heroes having solved the mystery that the flyboys had left behind. Was it wealth? Was it just a wild goose chase? Was it just these W.W.I.I. Army pilot's way of passing the time prior to battle?
The answer is found at the end of the film.

One thing only: I am not sure whether £150k is enough to make it. I don't know...
