Does anyone have any info on Marbella Film Festival and Razor Reel Film festival?

I would like to submit my film to the Marbella Film Festival and razor reel Film Festival and I would like to know if anyone has any experience with these festivals or any info about them?
Any positive feedback on these festivals would be much appreciated, as I want to make sure that they are genuine, as there are some bogus festivals out there.
Any info or submission advice would be welcome.
Thanks

Hi Cindy,

My film In Which a Wife... [https://vimeo.com/48397471] was selected for Marbella last year. I had planned to attend but in the end some work came through which meant I couldn't. However one of the cast went along and had a ball. If I remember correctly there was a £75 early bird accreditation fee and the £125 was to attend the black tie dinner award ceremony - which included food and wine. There was also the added cost in producing the compulsory posters, flyers and trailer. It seemed like a lot of extra work and was expensive but we had at least two screenings, the actor was interviewed on radio and we had some interest from a sales agent. By all accounts, they really did make it into a celebration of film.

Having said that, I won't be submitting my new film this year because of all the add-ons.

They don't charge to enter in the first place so perhaps send it in, then see how full the coffers are if it's accepted. A week in southern Spain in October is not such a bad thing after all.

Hope that helps.
Cheryl.

I also told Marbella Film Festival where to go when they asked for money and compulsory festival attendance out of my own pocket. Couldn't help feeling like it felt like a ploy to attract people to the resort out of season...

Marbella accepted my film 'to advance to the next stage' and then asked for a further £125 for an accreditation pass. They insisted that I attended and promoted the film for them. It's the only festival I have refused and I wish I had not applied. However, I didn't attend and maybe it's fantastic?

Reading the T&C's it seems to say that English films must be subtitled into Spanish.......
Is that true?
That has really put me off submitting mine...... A 70 min documentary!
