Does anyone know where I can recycle 100s of used mini dv tapes?

12 years, 6 months ago - Nicole Eveleigh

I have 100s of Sony Mini DV tapes from around 5 years ago, used from old jobs that will never resurface. So I need to get rid of them but wondered if they can be recycled or effectively wiped for re use?

Thanks
Nicole

If you're looking for a place that will take your video tapes and recycle them into plastic bottles and playground equipment - you would be more ecologically friendly to throw them in the trash. Recycling a complex multi-material product like a video tape is cost prohibitive and consumes far more energy and resources than simply making them from new materials.

but if you insist check out this company, not sure if it's the same as in the USA but they maybe the UK company will take it off you:

Hi - I was going to suggest a uni or college too - students can always put them to good use. x

Hello, I teach at UCA and I'm sure they'd be happy to have some extra tapes! Drop me a message to discuss further. Thanks, Lovejit
