Hi there! I'm a producer-writer, previously of self funded shorts and now I'm looking to take the next step and focus on funded work.

There are exceptions though. I'll happily produce someone else's self funded short (though my attention is only focussed on micros shorts/less than 10 pages). And I'm happy to write for LB shorts. Currently have 1 script being produced, which is self funded by me and the director - so the "rules" are flexible.

But this brings me to the point haha, it's becomingly increasingly obvious that I don't know many directors at the same point in their careers as me.

Any directors out there, who have worked on self funded and now ready and eager to focus on funded? I need directors that love to collab and understand how LB works.

Hi Jayne

I'm a writer/director just finishing the post on what I'm desperately keen to make the last short I self fund. I'm totally done with never going on holiday, constantly paying off credit card debt, just to go again once all the debts are paid and I have a script I really want to shoot.

I'd love to meet people who are on the same stage of the path as me. I don't know where to start looking for funding, but need to get good at it pronto!

Hi Jayne,

I am a Director, writer and producer based in Brisotl. I completely understand what you are saying!

I am working on a short, 25min, and this is will the first we are trying to get proper fundings for. So far so good, but I will be able to know exactly how we did by the end of February. It is looooong and exhausting, but we all need that big turn in our carreer!

I am happy to connect, maybe collab on something together, and take this long path of grants and funds together.

I just finished a master's at RADA and Birkbeck University. I produced, wrote and directed the short film 'Be My Baby' last summer, it is showing on the https://www.infinityfilmfest.com/screening-room (passcode scream). I am also at the stage where I would like to focus on funded work. I have few ideas brewing and would like to find a producer to collaborate on a future project.
