The Age of Stupid wass the first film I knew of that used equity crowdfunding. Now there's Salty. Both are in the UK. And now, thanks to a law change in New Zealand, producer Robin Scholes is using equity crowdfunding to fund some of The Patriarch, from a book by the author of Whale Rider, to be directed by Once Were Warriors director Lee Tamahori.
